I must be a true Seattle ite because I am SOOO over summer. A very large part of that could be that I dont have air conditioning and my huge windows face the sun all afternoon. For the last 2 months my house has had an average temperature of 78 degrees. INSIDE, there have been a few days when it has gotten up to 82. SO so so hot. I am ready for long pants and sweatshirts.

We have gone to A LOT of sporting events lately. Some times I have opted out and just let the boys go. Since the Mariners like to make you believe they are good, and give you false hope that "this could be the year" we have gone to their games. Q seems to love it, especially if he gets his own seat. I love going to football games. I prefer them to baseball and basketball. We have season tickets to the Huskies so we go to all the home games. Sometimes Eric gets lucky and gets extra tickets. So we can bring friends! Last game we brought Donald and Emma. We sat in the shade, cause you know in the middle of September it was 80 degrees. We had a lot of fun though!

A post wouldn't be the same if I didnt include our monthly trip to the ER right?
The first trip was croup. We went to play at a friends, and within 5 minutes he couldn't breath. He didn't have any symptoms before, so I had to call the doctor to find out what was wrong. Apparently that happens. Completely healthy kid one minute, struggling to breath from croup the next.
The next trip to the ER was super scary are required us to stay for 6 plus hours. After we had dinner one night Q started crying uncontrollably. We did everything we could think of to calm him, but nothing worked. He was also having a really hard time breathing. We rushed him to the ER right away, cause we knew he was having a severe allergic reaction. I have never given him an Epi Pen and as long as I live 3 minutes away, I dont plan on it. As soon as we walked in the doors they could tell he was in severe distress so gave him the epi pen, started an IV, and started a breathing treatment. They kept us there for 6 hours to make sure once the medicines wore off he wouldn't go into shock again.  Luckily Q was pretty tired from the treatments, and from crying so hard. I'm sure he was also really scared. So he let us lay with him and watch some movies while we waited.  Luckily he didn't go back into shock, so they sent us home. That doesn't mean I slept good. I'm pretty sure I woke up to check him every hour. We dont know what caused it, but afterwards I deep cleaned my entire house, and wanted to throw everything away.

Happier things also happened in August! Eric's grandparents came into town so they had lunch with us and took us to the Pacific Science Center. You would think I would take pictures but no. I was having too much fun. Q did NOT like the dinosaurs. He kept jumping from one person to the other trying to get them to save him. He eventually warmed up to the butterflies but not enough to get down on the ground himself. Before we went we played at the park by us. Grandpa Dolder pushed Q around in 'his" car. Q was on cloud 9.

He thinks he owns this car. If I had a bigger yard/house he might be getting one for his birthday. Sadly he will have to borrow the one at the playground.

This is how Q shops. If he isn't covering Eric's eyes, then he is grabbing his ears. Its pretty funny.

Now we just have to wait till Baby Hermione gets here! Q made sure her carseat worked and was comfortable for her.

We have had so many fun activities so far! Between work, and Q, and all the summer fun I dont have time to blog about each of them. So here is just a photo post with our activies!

UW treats their married students with kids FABULOUSLY!! They always have the best activities! This could also be because Michelle works for them, and is planning great stuff :) BUT it is still awesome that they do anything at all! July's big activity was water slides! So they got 2 huge slides, and set them up at the family park! Q and I went down twice. It was SO fun! He wouldn't go down alone, so I had to go with him... dang it.

Q and Wilson are seriously best friends. They play with each other so well, and are always looking out for each other. They were taking turns playing on the toy truck. They kept pushing and pulling each other around the basketball court.

We also finally got rid of the bottle! He only was having it for 1 of his naps and bedtime. But I got tired of it, and he was ready to grow up. So we no longer have any bottles in the house. He could care less. He doesn't seem to miss it!

We also got Q a big boy bed! He doesn't sleep in it yet, but he seems to like it. Whenever I take him to get in his crib for bedtime or nap, he also points to the other bed and wants to sleep in there. When he is ready to sleep in it, we will take the crib down and move the bed where the crib is. Away from the window. :)

Q had gotten more interested in scripture time! He loves to sit on Eric's lap while we read scripture stories. We use the church children gospel stories that has pictures. He loves it.
I love that his legs are crossed!
We also were able to escape our apartment (its been 80 degrees INSIDE!) and go to Martha's house and watch Mila while Martha and Brenton went to Oregon. Q had a blast! It made me super jealous not having a backyard that we could play in and having a house. One more year of school and hopefully we are in a house!

Apparently he had a car accident :)
Teaching himself to play XBox at Martha's house!
Learning to LOVE Toy Story!! He sat like this for half the movie.
We went to the Snohomish Downtown area and walked around with Sue and Brianna. There are the cutest stores down there! We went into one of the kids stores and they had this mask with a cap. Q thought they were awesome! He kept running the mirror and looking at himself and laughing. So we had to buy the mask. I guess I will be making a Captain America cap!
Eric has the craziest luck, like seriously, he entered a MBA competition at school and won a $100 gift card to the UW bookstore! So we were trying to figure out what to get. Q had his own idea of how Eric should spend his money. He went straight to the little kid department and grabbed this trio of sports balls, and then went and put on this hat. He ran around the entire store like this, hence the reason the photo is an action shot. I couldn't get him to stand still.
With this heat, we have been DYING! We dont have air conditioning in our townhome, so its HOT. We went to Grandma Dolder's house to play in the water and enjoy her air conditioning.  He has such cheesy smiles.

That night Eric and Grandpa Dolder came home from golf and Q wanted to show off his moves. He LOVES to golf, he walks around our place hitting his golf club and golf ball. If he cant find his golf club, he uses his hands, sticks or anything else that will hit the ball.

Daddy trying to show him the proper technique :)
He stole Grandpa Dolder's hat, and would only wear it backwards.

I'm sure we have many more days of swimming, golfing and playing with our friends!

Eric and I the other day were talking about how little snow Seattle has had so far this winter. Usually there is at least 1 or 2 days of snow where everything is cancelled! It's awesome! Well one Saturday night we happened to look out the snow and saw it was snowing!! I had to speak in church the next day so the prayers for church to be cancelled started!

We woke up the next morning to a lot of snow and since church wasn't till 11, we had to play in it! Also, Neal and Wilson were throwing snowballs at our windows.

Wilson and Q are always playing together

They are going to be best friends

Just like their dads

Trouble Maker Wilson- who needs yellow tape?!

Trying to make snow balls

Couldn't find his other blue glove- so we used a sock

Maddie was so excited to see Q

Maddie is also always looking out for Q
Who needs siblings when you have Maddie and Wilson? He had so much fun playing in the snow and exploring. He cried when we went back inside. Sadly church wasn't cancelled and I still had to give my talk. Hardly anyone was at church though, so it wasn't half bad!
